For me stu was made for the job as England coach....Do your reckon he would have been stood under an umbrella sipping a cappucino last night....no way....he'd have been up and down that touchline, barking orders and kicking and heading every ball for that team... it has showed in his success for the U21's.....I think he is only interested in international football, i say give him the job

Cometh the man cometh the wig....

I think Pearce's credentials have been tainted by that last year at City, when he couldn't motivate players, and the football was tedious to say the least.

Someone get a message through to Captain Snort
That they better start assembling the boys from the fort.
And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight,
'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight.

I concur. My heart would love pearce to do it, but he's not ready yet.  Maybe in a few years.

I think he's got a chance.  He would be working with certain players he could have only dreamed about having at City.  The under-21s are doing really well under him and I've always thought that, just like the players, the U-21 manager should step up to the senior squad when the time is right.

He is just starting to get a very good record with the U21's, he'd be mad to ruin that and jump too early. A few years, aye.

SP would give the job a bit of passion and grit, but that's about it really. I think there are managers out there that have more strings to their bow and would do a better job.

I hope the red tops are happy with their 'we want an English manager' campaigns last year. They got what they wanted and look what's happened.

If the FA hadn't made such a total balls up of the big Phil appointment, maybe this would never have happened.

My tip for the hot seat - Jose.

He has also just been linked to the Australia head coach after Advocaat (sp?) did a last minute about face.

Not sure he's the best we could get, but I suspect the FA will panic and want to appoint a fan/media pleaser.

Should get a thread up here about who is best for the role but I think you have to look to a foreigner here as I cant think of a English national that can turn this team in to a world class unit.

Do it!

I think we've also got to wake up and realise that we are not good enough to be world beaters.
