| | The FA will try and find a job for Alan Shearer within the England set-up even if the team qualifies for next summer's European Championship. (Daily Express) Good to see a well qualified sports professional getting the job he deserves.

| There's been a real groundswell of support in the British media for Shearer getting some sort of job in the England set-up. Its like all the football writers have got together and said "Right McClowns abviously a no-no, and there's no proper English managers we can push, so who shall we go for?" "What about Andy Townsend? He seemed to know his stuff when he drove that tactics truck?" "Nah, Irish isn't he?" "Graeme Le Saux?" "Sounds too French, and apparently he's got a degree." "Definite no then. Erm, Tim Sherwood? Teddy Sheringham? Hey hang on, how about Alan Shearer? He's surely one of the most passionate and motivational speakers in football today!" "Eureka!!"
