| | Stuart Pearce is lining up a bid for Anthony Gardner from Spurs in a bid to shore up his defence in January - Pearce is believed to be willing to pay up to 2 million for the defender (various)

| | Gardner's not a bad player, but he is prone to the occasional howler - pairing him with Dunnie, presumably after Distin's left in Jan woupld give us a rather shaky back two. Not sure he's worth £2m.

| I don't think he's worth the risk especially for more than a million.

In what way would it be a shaky defensive paring. Surely for it to be shaky as a pairing would mean they both have to be shaky. Dunnie isn't

Dunnie isn't Much as I love Richard Dunne, he does have a tendency to have a bit of a fuck-up every few games - Distin is a slightly more steady performer who I personally think does less, but adds stability to the pairing. Gardner's not the steady dependable type at Spuds, and a change of club could well unsettle him and make him even more error-prone than he currently is. IMO that means a pairting of Dunne and Gardner would be "shaky". That's all I meant.

| yeah id have him... 2mil sounds a lot.. but that isnt a def price. can see him fitting in well.. and if gardner does look shaky it could be cos he never has much of a run in the team..
