That's got to be one of the most common albums across the forum. I have it, on Cooder's recommendation, plus all of you talking about it... I class this album as just about the coolest album ever created. It is excellent. Brilliant album. I'll have to dust off my copy.

I'll have to dust off my copy. went watching a couple of unsigned bands last week, and the lead singer did an acoustic solo spot, and he did 'May you never' and 'Man in the station'. Absolute fookin class. I was with a couple of young ladies who are only in their twenties, and aren't really into music as much as me, and i felt really old going on about how cool John Martyn was..
Someone get a message through to Captain Snort That they better start assembling the boys from the fort. And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight, 'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight. |

| I've had a few of those "old Bloke" moments myself. I went to see Metallica 2 years ago and they played Master of Puppets. Hetfield asked sho bought it when it came out. I was one of the few in my vinicity who raised their hands. The album was 20 years old at the time.

Having cigs outside, someone said such a band was a bit weird and strange. This other guy said "you mean a bit like the Soup Dragons??" To which i replied "no, nothing like the Soup Dragons. They were kind of a straight forward indie band. This band however, were space cadets from the Gong weird 70's mold, with a bit of Ozric Tentacles thrown in, dressed like pot headed pixies, with some curious time signatures going on."

| | A few years back I was at The Red Hot Chili Peppers and New Order were supporting. New Order went down very badly and were booed and had bottles lobbed at them. At the end of the set some girls asked me and my mate who they were. "Joy Division" my mate replied. They nodded and accepted this answer.
