| Squidge (28/04/2008)
Portishead - Third
Anyone else heard this yet? Superb stuff, and Machine Gun is a bitch of a song, love it. Some other great tracks but i can't remember the names.
A Squidge recommended album anyway
Just got my copy today Squidge, not listened to it yet though.
Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced. |

A Squidge recommended album anyway Just got my copy today Squidge, not listened to it yet though. Okay Squidge, had a quick listen and I agree there are some great Portishead tunes there but at the same time I think that's a bit of a problem too. It's been a long time since the last Portishead album and I think this album picks up right where the last one left off. The problem with that is that things have moved on a bit in the last seven years and, whilst there's some fine tunes in there, it feels a tiny bit dated to me now. I'll still enjoy "3" myself but I can't see them winning many new fans with it personally.

You're not going to mistake this one for the new David Lee Roth album. I think its great but nothing we haven't heard from them before. How the hell did it take all this time to produce 40 minutes of music? Lazy bastards!

Someone get a message through to Captain Snort That they better start assembling the boys from the fort. And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight, 'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight. |
