That scares me. What? Bassman hasn't listed an indie album or a standard issue classic like The Clash?

What about all the reggae stuff? This is music from a different time, bands don't play like this any more. Anyway, 21st century Schizoid Man - that wasn't ahead of it's time, it's still to this day never had it's time. And it sounds like Greg Lake was having fun.
Someone get a message through to Captain Snort That they better start assembling the boys from the fort. And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight, 'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight. |

However, a few bands play like that today - Opeth, Porcupine Tree, ex-Girl etc etc.

It was that overall sound, must have been that mellotron, on the Crimson stuff that sets it apart. And those ancient medieval kind of lyrics. There is one part, i think it's the middle section of Schizoid man, where they launch into a kind of jazz instrumental, very fast...it sounds to me like it should soundtrack a car chase in the Sweeney or something. You like any other KC stuff? I used to have Wake of Poseiden, but i thought it wasn't very good, and Thrak from the 90's - again not quite what i would expect.

| Like the 80s stuff like Discipline. Very different to the early stuff. Great musicians. Very inventive.

Very inventive. You ever heard that beginning to melt, i think Fripp was on that was he? with Mick Karn etc, or i may be mistaken. A very chilled out album i recall. You ever heard bands such as PFM, van der graff generator, Mother Gong etc.

A lot of this stuff is pretentious, but they all have good players and a bit of adventure about them. And silver capes.
