I would have challenged you to a dual if you'd said that before this weekend.
Now I prolly agree with you.
Strange one, listening to the White Album now I'd say it highlights the rift between Lennon and MacCartney and gives an insight as to how crap they'd be as solo artists and the best moments probably belong to George Harrison.
There are some truly horrible moments from MacCartney though.

I was gonna say did you know that Dear Prudence was originally called 'I'm just a child of nature', but actually it was Jealous Guy that was originally called that. I shoulda known really. What with the "I'm just a" at the beginning. Cuz he just swapped child of nature for the words jelous guy. It's on the bootleg Not For Sale, but it's been a long time since I heard it. It also has the studio recordings of strawberry fields, about 8 slightly different recordings of the same song. It's good to hear the progression of the song through to it's final cut, even the talking in between.
Yes, all right.. Christ Almighty! It's like walking down a corridor and answering the door in Nazi Germany! |

Someone get a message through to Captain Snort That they better start assembling the boys from the fort. And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight, 'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight. |

I was also quite young at the time and discovered years later that it was a Beatles song. Upon hearing the Beatles version, I was very disappointed in it and felt comfortable with the knowledge that the Banshees is way superior.
