| | Not really bothered about the result- just want all of our players who were away for internationals to come back unscathed! Care far more about our game on Saturday. Pretty pathetic if we don't qualify and the damage was definitely done in the early stages. The tactics were changed too late and now we have to rely on others to help us out- very poor really and even if we did manage to get through I think it would be fair to say we'd been very lucky. |

| At 1-0 up you expect England to be able to organise their team well enough not to concede two goals, given that a draw would have been an adequate result. But once again the old failings came out. Allowing the opposition to gain control, defending too deep, reckless tackling. It's all well and good to beat teams 3-0 at home, but away from home is where qualification is won or lost. Most will point to the home draw with Macedonia, but for me it was the pitifull performance in Croatia that most undermined our efforts. Now we have to hope Isreal can take points off Russia and we can beat Croatia. As much as I want England to be at the finals, I really don't want McClown to be there in charge of us.

Having watched the game, I have to say that I think it is amazing England lost. They played really well for most of the game and were very unfortunate. They looked nervous for the first five minutes but after that it was all about organisation, discipline and big hearts. There were some magnificent performances from the likes of Gareth Barry and Sol Campbell. But you would have to say that the chance Steven Gerrard missed early in the second half was absolutely massive, while Micah Richards had a good opportunity to score as well. Up until 69 minutes you could not see how Russia would get back into the game but it was a terrible decision for the penalty kick and then Paul Robinson spilled a shot. The goalkeeper has had a hard time of late and there were questions as to whether or not he should have been playing. The only thing I would say about the penalty decision is that I have no idea why Wayne Rooney was in the left-back position. Good point well made !! Rooney plays to deep for my liking and doesnt support Owen enough and encourages the other team to come forward, but why was he tracking that bloke/Kid !!

| I'm wounded. I've got post traumatic stress syndrome. Thats how badly I take that defeat. Wait till the tournament kicks off and we're not there, then you'll fell like I do. I'm psychic, thats why I feel it now.
