| Is this really the best we can do?

| Why play somebody out of position? A centre half can't play full back unless you are Micah! . They should play Shorey. Or call Ned up from the U21's. |

| To be fair to Lescott, he has played at left back quite a lot, and has had a good start to the season. This selection brings up the old 'form vs class' argument again - is it better to have a lesser name given a chance when he is on top form, or a tried-and-tested established name (Phil Neville? No ta!) who's not playing so well or is past his best? The left hand side has long been a problem for England, and our lack of strength in depth if the first choices are out is all too clear.

| I'd love to see Bally get a chance, but he hasn't been playing enough to get a look in. We all know that the 'picked even when not playing regularly' rule only applies to players from the so-called Big Four.

I don't want to be "fair" to him though Labmonkey. He has hair that makes him look like Herman Munster.
