Well I love him.

So, if I'm summarising correctly, you're basically saying he's a fantastic goalscoring midfielder.  The best in the country in fact.
In that case, I concur.

Elano or Lampard? If I had to choose it would be Elano, but thet's more my heart ruling my head. Lampard is proven in the PL over several seasons, Elano has made a great start and I hope he does the same.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, they are different types of midfielder, I doubt any pundits would look to make comparisons, why are you?

Exactly, and there you hit the nail on the head. They have different qualities but both want to play in the same area of the pitch. That is why I'm asking for a choice. Elano brings you flair and creativity (and goals), Lampard brings you goals. It's not to do with head over heart, we could be comparing Kaka and Gerrard, or Gascoigne and Platt, it amounts to the same. How do you want your team to play and where do you want the creativity to come from. I'd have it pretty much the way we have it at City at the moment, except with a proper winger on the right and more of a goalscorer up front. Three creative players in the front four, with Elano as the playmaker. Thats how I like it, and thats why Lampard would get nowhere near any team of mine, given the choice.

Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking when I hear the silly things that you say

As I've already said, much of the critisism leveled at Frank is due to his performances for England, and IMO that's down to poor team selection and this outdated English perception that 4-4-2 is the way the game should be played, and 4-5-1 is for Jonny Foreigner when it comes to internationals. I will totally concede that either Lampard/Gerrard, or even Elano/Lampard wouldn't work in a 4-4-2 formation, but in a 4-5-1 it could. It would need disaplin but it would and could work.
