Leftcoaster (05/12/2007) It would seem he's Plan C for Sven, perhaps even further down the alphabet. However, there's a lot of interest for the bigger names so the options may dwindle quickly.I think if he signs a biggie early doors then other biggies may follow. Chortle and the wheelies.

| | This is defo one player we HAVE to stay away from! No if's, no but's. He's a lazy player who doesn't like it if he can't get the ball to his feet! Besides, as soon as Rolando's confidence improves I reckon he'll be prolific!

But he scores goals. We haven't had a player score anything like the number of goals per season that he scores since he left us. It's easy to complain that he's lazy, but if he's by far the highest scorer at the club he can't be being that lazy. I'd take Nic back in a heartbeat. But we might not need him anyway. Certainly not if Boji becomes the player we all hope he will.

| | The incredible Sulk Returns??? Manchester City chief Sven Goran Eriksson has dropped a huge hint that he could be prepared to bring Nicolas Anelka back to the club. Anelka was sold by cash-strapped City in 2005, but things are a lot different at the City of Manchester Stadium with Thaksin Shinawatra at the helm and willing to finance Eriksson at every turn. Eriksson wants to add a couple of attacking options to his squad in January and he already looks on course to seal a deal for Mexican Nery Castillo. He also wants an out-and-out striker and Anelka looks to fit the bill, with moves for Michael Owen and Diego Milito now looking unlikely to come to fruition. The likes of Adriano and Afonso Alves are also under consideration - but Eriksson is a self confessed fan of the Bolton forward. Quality"Anelka has everything you can wish from a striker - quality, technique, pace, goals and he is big and strong," Eriksson admitted. "He has done well at any club he has played for. He is a fantastic player." Eriksson admitted that he almost signed Anelka when he was with Lazio - but he opted for Real Madrid. "I've known about him since he played for Arsenal and I was very close to signing him when I was at Lazio. We almost got him, but at the last minute he went to Real Madrid," he added. "Anelka has to do his job for Bolton and while I admire his qualities we have to try and stop him, but what happens in January is another story." Shinawatra has previously stated his desire for young talent - but Eriksson insists there would be no problems in signing Anelka when it comes to his age, 28. "Are there certain players that can stretch the boundary of age? Yes," he said. "Dr Thaksin is a businessman. He is more likely to spend huge money on a young player rather than an older one but Anelka wouldn't be a problem." |
