More on the sack race.

I would say even if it isn't Pearce there will be a premier league sacking by mid november

"And to think that only last season David James, then the City goalkeeper, enthused. "Stuart Pearce is a breath of fresh air, in terms of tactics and man-management he is potentially a truly top manager.""

What a load of old cobblers he speaks.

Can't argue with his ability to keep the ball out of the back of the net though. He's been awesome for Pompey this season, as he was great for us.

Weaver had a mare on saturday (as did most), I wonder how the season would have shaped up so far had we had James and Cole to play? (I'm not saying they're the answer or that we shouldn't have sold them, but they are of higher quality than the people playing in hteir places)

Not sure James would have made a lot of difference,  Saturday aside, I thought Weaver had done pretty well.  I do think we have missed Cole a lot...much more than I thought we would, but we would have missed him even if he had not been sold given he has been imjured until the last week.......

He wouldn't have made the world of difference I agree, but if you look at what he did for Pompey against Chelsea, Weaver could never do that for us. I think James could have kept the score down against Wigan, but agree we still would have been beat

Back to the sack race. I still think if things go tits up against Boro we could see Wardle's patience snap, especially if the over all display is anything as dire as the Wigan game.

I think Pardew is safe until they sort out this whole take over situation. It would be hard to replace him when there's so much upheaval in the background.

If you look at the facts:

  1. Results/performances are acrap
  2. Pearce costs nothing to sack
  3. No compensation will have to be paid for Curbishley
  4. Promise of money in January

it doesn't take a rocket scientist

Curbs has also distanced himself from all the jobs in the Championship that have been in the offing, I wonder if he's had a phone call.

When Royal was sacked, KK let it slip that Tuart had made contact with him a good few weeks prior to Royal getting the chop. Same again maybe?

Royal? Tuart?

Who are these people you speak of?

Perhaps. I will be sorry to see Pearce go if that is what happens, but it's a result business. Even though we have the saving grace that there are at least 3 teams worse than us, I doubt Pearce will be given the rest of the season to show his worth.

On another note, if Curbs is appointed on the 1st November, it will give him time up til Christmas to get used to his squad and enable him to make a more informed judgement in the January transfer market. Not that I'm advocating Pearce be sacked before Christmas you understand
