| Oh joy! Yes I am back, after a 2 week break in Manchester, and get to see this result.
No I didn't see the shambles against Sheffield United, but having seen the result and read the report, am I surprised by this result today? No. The result at home against Sheffield United started ringing alarm bells for me, but obviously not for all at Manchester City.
Relegation candidates? You bet.

| I've already given up on this season already after bleedin 9 games....
Where are the goals coming from this season I don't know..
Even the expert Mark Lawrenson says the same thing on MOTD every Saturday...
I think it's time to play Ethoooohu and Daniel Sturridge because Pearce has to do something sooner rather than later.....

| I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Weaver and how poor he was. He's not a patch on the goalkeeper he was before his injury. He was so hesitant at times it was painful to watch and his positioning - especially on set pieces - was pathetic. Come back David James, all is forgiven.

Difficult one this, Wevare has kept us in a few matches this season, but on sat he was poor. Hart and Kasper and arent really ready as far as I know. My point of view is he has a 1 or 2 more games to prove himself.

| Dannys_studs (21/10/2006) It was a sickener today, awful. Only positive was Johnson who played well.
Samaras: the worst I have seen him. Always took too long to get rid of the ball and coughed it up. Terrible. I am aware he was out of position at left flank, but George was shit.
Jordan: idle today Stephen. Woeful mate, responsible for 3rd goal, just strolling in to clear ball. Not good enough.
Pearce: bizarre substitutions. Hamann off? MMills off? Samaras should have been dragged for having a mare and replaced with DV. Very bad day at the office. 9 blokes in physio room, we were shown up.
Don't agree about the substitutions...why wouldn't he have brought Hamann off? He was, once again, fucking shite

| | Seems that a lot of people are having knee jerk reactions to a 4-0 whooping. We know we have problems, no lead striker, no left midfielder, barely 4 fit defenders, a tissue thin squad, no pace in midfield or up front, no creativity - so what I don't understand is why everyone is so surprised - we will struggle this year and without any new players in Jan (I've heard we won't be spending unless we sell...) we are very liekly to be bottom 6. We need to worry if the likes of Sheff United, West Ham and Reading start spending. SP can't please the fans at the minute - if he plays the youngsters and we lose, half the fans slate him for using kids. if he plays the Seniors and they lose half the fans scream for the kids to be blooded and let loose. KK couldn't motivate the team and SP seems to be having the same problems - maybe the players at City don't beleive in the Club as much as the Fans. Dunne, Barton, Weaver and Dickov play 100%, but its not enough these days we need all the team up for it - Maybe money is ruining the game and players that earn far too muh money and have no real competition for places just aren't motivated - and they probably feel they won't win anything but won't be relegated either. SP needs to get tough and In my opinion should inject some pace into the games via youngsters. SP brugh in a few new players, so maybe his prode is getting in the way of what should be happening. Corradi is so slow, Dickov is way pas his best, C5 is slowing down, Hamman has probably done 1 season too many, Jordan wouldn't make many other Prem 1st teams. Thats 5 from 11 that really shouldn't have a gauranteed a place week in week out. Our away form is definitely worthy of relegation - A lucky win against Arsenal and a last minute draw with Everton are all that are keeping us above the drop zone. This is the time to support the team and SP - It would be a horrible time to change manager now - we'll never have any continuity.

| I completely agree with most of the points here. Some really awful performances here. I don't know what dunnie was doing when he scored his own goal. Even if he didn't hear the shout it was never a defensive header. Corradi is one of our weakest strikers ever (move along lee bradbury). Jordan had a nightmare for the second game running. Samaras was out of position - he's our only proper goalscorer and I think the attack should be built around him. Hamann was awful. Mills looked very weak on his debut. and on and on and on it goes.
Pearce signed some absolute shit in the summer. Okay, he'd no money, but if he added the wages of those eight signings together, he may have had enough for one or two decent players. |
