Do you rebel against any form of authority just for the sake of it

Mostly, i just don't see how one human being can tell another what to say and what to not say.  It's fuckin all bollox.  Nobody's got any spirit any more.

So you don't think people have the right to a fair trial without having loads of stuff being written about them in the public domain?  It's not about spirit.

No, the spirit thing, what i mean is, everybody just gets told what to do, so they jump to it.  Nobody chucks it back anymore, and says no.

The length and breadth of the country, on tv, telephone, in the pub, on the internet, this subject is being discussed right now.  We have absolutely no influence over the outcome of this whatsoever.  All we have are facts, and like (supposedly) civilized human beings, we talk things over.

It is being discussed, and I don't think you'd post anything dodgy, but what if someone posted something libellous?

Of all your repetitive posts, this is probably the most tired bassman.

Run for prime minister. Make that your catchphrase

Become one of that docile lot.  I'd rather gnaw my own feet off.  In fact, i'd rather gnaw your feet off.

Well, how do you propse to change things then Bassman? You have a lot to moan about, but don't do anything about anything that i know of (obviously you may do, i don't you inside out). Obviously i was joking about running for PM though.

I can just see it "i have a dream..."

If i did run for PM, I'd do a Frank and (allegedly) cream off a load of cash and put it into City.  Grand idea, that.  Keep 'em coming.

Bassman, would you honestly want it left up and discussed anyway?  Given the fact that we would have to remove anything that offered just a hint of a suspicion of potential libel to cover our backs legally, there couldn't be any kind of balanced discussion going on about it anyway.  Is there any point in a discussion where one point of view would automatically be removed?  It'd make for a very one-sided debate.

Why can't we, It's the only interesting topic of the day.  Soon as an interesting topic comes up, some killjoy with no backbone goes and scrubs it.  Absolute garbage.

If anyone wants to discuss this on Myspace or any other pages, just give me the nod.

Because of this:

A former parliamentary candidate for the UK Independence Party has been awarded £10,000 in damages after winning a defamation case.

Michael Keith Smith had sued over postings in an internet chat room. According to reports, Smith, who put himself forward for the Portsmouth North seat at the last election, was a participant in a discussion on the Iraq war, held on a discussion board run by Yahoo!.

Another participant, Tracy Williams, had taken objection to his anti-war comments and, using an alias, had posted a series of defamatory remarks about Mr Smith.

These included calling him a racist and a sex offender, according to reports. Smith sued, obtained court orders enabling him to identify the person behind the remarks, and has now won a defamation action against Williams.

Judge Alistair MacDuff ruled that the remarks were clearly defamatory and awarded Smith £10,000 damages. He issued an injunction, prohibiting Williams from repeating the remarks, and ordered her to pay the costs involved in bringing the action.

Ms Williams did not defend the action.

"I'm happy with the judge's ruling but firms hosting online chat rooms should be prepared to get involved and step in to moderate defamatory statements,” Smith told The Guardian newspaper.
