I think it's pretty good, surprisingly off hand for the BBC. Here's an example:

"1500: There's West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson in the crowd. He turned 60 this week and apparently new Uefa president Michel Platini was one of the guests at his party. Ooh, get him. "

"1440: Sir Alex Ferguson is celebrating like he's just won the title. It's a bit like watching your dad dance at a wedding. I suppose you can't really blame him: United now have a nine-point lead in the race for the Premiership crown. "

I was followng the CL on there last week. Quite amusing with the 'missiles' being thrown on the pitch and other stuff. The Guardian used to be good with comments too.
