| Apparently he would be willing to stay at Chelsea, but only so long as the fans sacrifice potential cuts in the price of tickets so that he can be vastly overpaid to an even greater extent. Just think how many pies that money could buy you. Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon claims the players' demands for massive pay rises are making it impossible for the club to reduce ticket prices. According to The Sun, Kenyon has revealed greed has got the better of the superstars, who all want a healthy share of the new £625million TV deal, meaning the club can't afford to cut the supporters' costs. Kenyon claimed: "A reduction in prices is a difficult topic because other sectors of the business want their share of the TV cash and the players also want a slice." It's been reported that England internationals Frank Lampard and John Terry are demanding £6.3million-a-year contracts to bring them level with top earners Michael Ballack and Andriy Shevchenko. However it's also been calculated that slashing £5 off every Premiership ticket next season would cost Chelsea just £4m. Supporters argue this reduction funded by the massive increase in TV money which every Premiership club will receive next term. The new deal ensures each team is guaranteed a minimum of £30m per season with the champions getting £50m. But the paper has revealed that after a meeting between Kenyon and fan representatives, the idea to slash prices has now been rejected. Chelsea are currently the second most expensive club in the country for supporters, with only Arsenal charging more.
