Lomana LuaLua was arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm on Friday.

The arrest of the 26-year-old Portsmouth striker comes three months after he was detained following a domestic dispute with his partner.

Police were called to an address at the luxury residential development Port Solent, Portsmouth, Hants, at 1.50am on Friday where Lualua was arrested.

Gary Double, spokesman for Portsmouth Football Club, said: "There won't be any statement on behalf of the club - we are still looking into this ourselves.

"He is not due to play this weekend because he is currently injured."

The striker has not played for Portsmouth for six weeks because of a thigh injury but did appear at the club's training ground in Eastleigh yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said: "A 26-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested following an incident in the early hours of this morning.

"Police were called to an address in Port Solent at around 1.50am.

"A man was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm. He is currently helping police with their inquiries."

In the incident on October 5, LuaLua was arrested in the early hours at his Port Solent home.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international was detained for 17 hours while police found a translator for his partner, who speaks a dialect. He was released the same evening without charge.

Isn't that kind of a statement of sorts?

Bit difficult to speak if you don't use a dialect!

He married a Geordie lass then?

Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced.

Grief over losing your child is one thing, but domestic violence (if this is what this is) is another.

Yes tough times for them but beating the crap out of your wife (If this is what happened and I am not suggesting that it did) get's no sympathy from me.

I gave Elano my Porsche and now I want it back!

granted, but it just must be shit. in no way would i ever condone violence, but it just must be hard.

and i'm not just talking about him, it must be even more difficult for her, getting slapped about, not speaking the language etc.. all in all a shitty terrible situation. no matter who you are, or what you've done, losing a child must be the most painful thing to have happen to you.
