slart (15/01/2007) If Dave O'Leary had stayed at Villa they would be where Charlton are today, so MO'N deserves credit.
If SP can steady City at mid-table this season then I'll be relieved. I don't think anyone could do better with our resources.
That's a fair point Slart. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy as I think he has integrity just like Pearce. I suppose I was just a bit surprised to see a MO'N team looking so abject on the telly that's all.
True. The damage done to Villa over the last few seasons has been severe. O'Leary had lost a lot of players. MO'N has lot of work to do and getting them steady in mid-table will be the start. It'll be intereseting to see where they are in a few seasons.

| | He didn't really do that well at the start, too many draws. I never gave any credit when they were doing alright, and i won't criticise him now they have lost form a bit, but i never wanted him as City or England manager, i've thought for a while he is a tad over rated. He's one of those guys i want to do well, but one of those clubs i don't. Hope they go down...which they clearly won't
