Bastard Barber (02/01/2007)
I rate Crouch very highly  - for me he's a class player and a top goalscorer.  One or two of you on this thread are being a little harsh I feel.

I wish one of our strikers could have a "lucky" swing of the leg like he allegedly has and score a text book volley on the turn.  Twice.

He's playing well for Liverpool, and is a cert for every England squad. Apart from the fact that Liverpool wouldn't sell him, why the fuck would he come to City?

Again, it's down the chances/goals ratio. If Samaras had chances on a plate like Crouch gets (and misses) he'd be comfortably in double figures by now. Crouch has real guilt edged opportunities created for him, as do all Liverpools strikers. We cannot claim the same for our forwards.

Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking when I hear the silly things that you say

I don't see it that way at all BU.  At the minute there's absolutely no comparison between Crouch and Samaras.  Crouch has the ability to make his own chances and i don't consider him to be as profligate as you suggest.  I strongly suspect Samaras misses as many, if not more chances than Crouch.

I'd love to have Crouch at City - he's a north west lad too, but there's absolutely no fucking way he'd come.

He's a real confidence player aswell, remember when he first joined Liverpool and couldn't score for love nor money? He missed a penalty, he was nearly crying in the post match interview on BBC. My point being, a confidence player in the current City team wouldn't do too well. We're only hoping now that Samaras is getting some confidence so we can benefit

I rate Crouch. Very good player, ok so he's never going to be world player of the year but he is still good. I'd happily have him in our team. Seems like a nice guy as well
