with stuart pearce over in holland the rumour mill kicks into action.i for oe would like to see pearce buy a proven 20 goal a season striker, not a so called uncut diamond like samaras.city over the years have a poor track record with these sort of players bradbury, peacock, martin phillips, rob taylor.all these players good at a lower league but in the big time useless.so once again we are linked with eastwood, sharp, nugent, jones all good players in a lower league granted but why spend 4 million on a unproven premier player????????.why not just go out and bid for a proven striker like alan smith(i know),or camara, harewood,or anyone who can find the net maybe hartson, ole gunnar, baros,

We've been linked to Afonso Alves who does seem like a good player.  Hes been prolific in the Swedish league and now the Dutch league and has scored 69 times in 111 occasions and is currently the leading goalscorer in Eredivisie.

I think it's worth doing both - taking in a young player from the lower leagues, like Billy Sharp, who can poach alongside a bigger player like Harewood, and bringing them in at the same time so they can learn each other's games. We brought Cole and Vassell in together and look how well that worked. The other thing is that we've got to start giving Etuhu or Sturridge a chance, or else they'll be off, and we'll never know how good they could've been. I really think we should bring in some midfielders, for the left wing and the centre.
I want to get rid of Corradi, who can piss off back to Chievo, get rid of Reyna and Hamann and bring in a few £2mill players -

Lee Chun Soo - Ulsan Hyundai Horang-1 - Wants to leave, can play on both wings and has an eye for goal, doesn't mind coming to mid-table, we should snap him up.

Clint Dempsey - New England Revolution - Wants to leave, has an eye for goal and the killer pass.

It's practically Christmas today!

Do we need a striker, with having scored so many?

Talking of lower league Logic BWP(7) has scored more goals for Southampton than Coradi, Samaras and Vassell put together. Maybe we could spend £4m buying him back !!

Plus why not play miller upfront or Sturridge ?? or Both ?
