1) Darren bent (striker)

2) Tim cahill (attacking midfielder)

3) Ricardo Andrade Quaresma Bernardo (Winger)

4) Jlloyd Samuel (left back)

Thats whats needed im affraid

I would like to refer to my answer posted previously on this page.

Well thats my opinion....thats whats needed and if i was manager thats what i would bring in.

That's who you'd like to bring in.

Cahill and Quaresma, you'd have no chance.  J Lloyd Samuel, no point and I doubt Villa would let him go.  And a rather salient point is:

How much money do you think we've got?

Too much Championship Manager methinks....

Yeh I agree none of those players would be available or even affordable. Bent will be at the end of the season though i think but would cost £8 million + .

I would like......

Henry - as he is clearly unsettled at Arsenal

Beckham - as above

Schevchenko - as above

Gallas - as he's french and will surely fall out with Wenger at some point

What about enticing ZZ out of retiring - he's french?

These players will clearly relish the challenge at City and considering the new Environmental initiatives offered by COM and Manchester City Council, then surely City is the place to be right now?

I'd just be happy keeping Micah!

So is the Sidwell thing dead in the water then? Okay, here's some targets that I think might be a bit more realistic.

Danny Murphy at Tottenham - might move for regular football, decent creativity.
Bolo Zenden at Liverpool - same again. Was great for Boro before he went to Liverpool.
Andy O'Brien at Portsmouth - might be a decent stop-gap, plus he should already know Richard Dunne's game from the Irish team.

And some for the end of the season.
Luke Young, Andy Reid and Amdy Faye from Charlton if they go down.
Hayden Mullins and Yossi Benayoun from West Ham, assuming they do the sensible thing like most clubs with money and swap their proven hard-working players for overpriced lazy shits.
Ashley Young from Watford if they go down.
Stephen Warnock at Liverpool - not sure about his fitness, but if this Aggar bloke keeps the leftback slot, then he might consider a move.

Unfortunately, I don't have football manager, so I'm limiting it to players I've actually seen play, rather than a set of stats on a screen.

Good post......On the sidwell situation, i think he'll stay at reading if they manage to stay up

Danny Murphy - yes, he still lives in cheshire as i know a mate of his and is desperate for move back up north, at least he knows how to take a free kick and he can create things

luke young is a No, we've too many players better than him for RB

Andy Reid,Yes. he needs to lose weight and gather his fitness if that works out ok, i think he'd be a decent buy

Benaoum, I would love to see at city, but its unlikely, a more likely hammers buy and one i rate a lot is Bobby Zamora.

Bolo Zenden is unlikely although i rate him.....

Cometh the man cometh the wig....

Andy O'Brien??He is one of the worst centre halves i've ever seen and couldn't get in Newcastles defence!

I'd like Andy Reid we should have been in for him before Charlton. Ashley Young looks a great prospect but Watford would be looking to up his price tag a lot especially if they went down.

Maybe City could have a look at that Niclas Bendtner on loan at the Brummies from Arsenal,he's only 18 and has scored a few for them and looks like another good prospect for the future.

I can't say I'm too familiar with his (lack of) talents, I was just throwing names around. I figured that if you're a regular for Ireland then you've gotta be okay, plus know a bit about Dunnie's game. And to be fair, I've seen world class defenders crumble as soon as they get into St. James' Park. It must just be an effect they have on defenders.
