| ESM's Big Inflatable Santa (01/12/2006)
Chelsea want a new right-back in January and want either Seville's Daniel Alves or Valencia's Miguel. (The Independent) Lets hope so. I hope that is right (and I have heard the Alves rumour a few times lately) because the Times are stirring things up about Richards again despite what he just said about being at City... Micah Richards may have committed his future to Manchester City as recently as yesterday but today's edition of The Times is convinced that England's latest right-back will soon be moving to Chelski.
"I'm very happy to be a City player," said the 18-year-old on Wednesday. "I'm getting first-team football and playing every week and also representing my country and I don't think I could ask for more than that."
Oh, you're so naïve.
As The Times points out, Chelski, who have identified Richards as the solution to their long-standing problem at right-back, are ready to quadruple Richards's £12,500-a-week wages and match Citeh's asking price of around £20m.
Apparently, 'Arsenal have also been monitoring Richards's progress', but 'are reluctant to get dragged into a bidding war with Chelsea.' Which is a bit like saying you fancy the same bird as Johnny Depp and realise you've got no chance of winning.
Keeper of the heretic's fork of doom. |

"I don't want to go to Chelsea"
Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking when I hear the silly things that you say |
