Well done City

Just seen a thread on one of our message boards that highlighted the fact you are only the Fourth team to sell your full away allocation at the Stadium Of Light this Season

Mags
Everton
Man Utd

being the three other teams.

We have only had 4 away games not sell out with three of those being midweek (still took over 2k to two of them and over 3k to the third) the fourth was Wigan where we took 4186.

It's nice to see that despite currently being an a bad run you still have the loyal fans to follow your lads where ever they play.

Have a safe journey up and a disappointed trip back

Ha! Cheeky.

Thanks KRS. Interesting fact that, I guess it is a long way for the southern teams but no excuses from midlands and north not to fill out away section. Crap.

As much as I will never like the guy you coud do worse than R Keane at the helm, I suspect he may be there for a little while yet. You'd have to say he's done a decent job, thoughts?

Good luck for this season and next, seems a though you are purty much safe. 4 points guarantees that, hope it's in the remainding 4 games you pick them up.

Ciao.

Last time I was over, some of the Sunderland board were on the same flight as us.  Niall Quinn and Charlie Chalk spent the time before the flight chatting to City fans in the airport bar.  Nice blokes.  Andy Reid sat a good bit away but was happy to sign autographs for the younger fans who approached him.

Danny's Studs (10/04/2008)

IMO he has done a cracking job, more so when you think of two of our lads who looked well out of their depth last time in the Prem and have been two of our most consistent performers this season (Turned Danny Collins from a shambolic Centre Half into a solid Left Back and Nyron Nosworthy from a error prone nightmare of a Right Back into a solid Centre half and statistically one of the most accurate tacklers in the League) both will be in the running for Player of the season if not numbers 1 and 2.

Him and Quinny have given us a bit of Pride back after our last two outings in the Top flight and you can see that every time (especially over the last few months) the players go out on to the pitch they are fighting for every ball and playing for each other rather than trying to coast through games and letting their team mates do the work. I know he is far from any Man City fans favourite person but he has the potential to become a legend as a Manager at Sunderland for how he is trying to build the club and not just the team, he has done just as much behind the scenes as he has with the first team to take us forward.

Despite alot of our fans thinking we would storm the league this season, it was always going to be about cementing our place and showing those quality players that we are seriously making a go of being a Premiership team and trying to shake off that Yo-Yo tag, it looks like we have taken a step towards that this season so hopefully if we can get one or two real quality players in over the summer and convince Fergie to sell us Jonny Evans we can take another step forward and look to become a mid table team next season then build from there again.

We'll get there, one step at a time.

Tickets have sold well for Saturday with a crowd of over 46'000 expected.
