Highly-rated Excelsior Rotterdam winger Andwele Slory has caught the eye of Manchester City.

The 24-year-old has scored five goals in 10 Eredivisie games this season and also has four assists to his name.

He has already been watched by City scouts on several occasions and has expressed a fondness for The Premiership.

"I think English football would suit me," he told Algemeen Dagblad.

"However, I am not currently thinking about it, as I am focusing completely on Excelsior."

Slory's current deal at Excelsior expires next summer but City could have fierce competition for his signature, as Feyenoord are also firm admirers.

And due to Feyenoord's affiliation with Excelsior, they do have the option to sign him at the end of the season.

The highly-rated 24-year-old winger has been in fine form for Excelsior Rotterdam this season, netting five goals in ten games as well as setting up four more.

With his contract set to expire in the summer, City are hoping to sign the player in the New Year for a cut-price fee, although Feyenoord will also move to keep him in Holland.

"I think English football would suit me," Slory told Algemeen Dagblad. "However, I am not currently thinking about it, as I am focusing completely on Excelsior."

Rumour mill: Blues linked with striker

CITY have been linked with a move for striker Andwele Slory.

The 24-year-old, who plays for Excelsior in the Dutch Eredivisie, has been watched by a number of scouts after a string of impressive performances, with the Blues reportedly among the interested parties.

Slory, who was born in Suriname in South America, scored 14 goals in 36 appearances for Excelsior last season, and is contracted to the club until 2007.

The Blues have struggled for goals this term with just seven in 11 games.

Then if he is good enough for Feyenoord to be interested, he will be going there.  If he isn't, then is he really that good at all?

I thought that being from Feyenoord meant never having to say you're Slory.
