Caught the Egypt game on Eurosport last night. What I saw of it, they were quite impressive at times. Some good players.

Cameroon v Angola last night saw 4 top quality goals during normal time. Didnt stay up for ET but the football has been top notch, havent seen a bad match yet.

I beg to differ to an extent. I saw parts of the earlier group games and had to switch over. But then again, much like the group stages with most tournaments, as in a few bad sides are still there.

This amused me

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/7227574.stm

shows what numpties they are running the show in that continent.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Didier Drogba says he does not wish to be considered for future African player of the year awards after Frederic Kanoute won the 2007 title by default.

The Ivory Coast striker is playing at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana and claims he was told he had won but had to travel to Togo to accept the prize.

Egypt deserved to win the cup, they have a really good team. I felt happy when they won the cup because they were controlling the whole game from the beginning until the end.
