He might be a tad biased but I agree with him.

CORLUKA FITS BIL AS WORLD'S FINEST

BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE RACE FOR THE TITLE

Croatia boss Slaven Bilic last night hailed Manchester City defender Vedran Corluka as "the best right-back in the world" as he backed Eduardo to prove the title difference for Arsenal.

The former Dinamo Zagreb team-mates go face to face for the first time at Eastlands today when Arsene Wenger's title-chasers aim to inflict the first home defeat of the season on Sven Goran Eriksson's City side.

And Bilic, who nurtured the pair through to becoming key members of the Croatia side that eliminated England from Euro 2008, suggested they were both now world-class stars.

Bilic said: "Corluka is the best full-back in the world, I know it.

"I say that with no disrespect to others like Micah Richards and Daniel Alves. Corluka is good in every part of his game. He is brilliant.

"Even though he has played sometimes in midfield he has always played like a centre-half.

Then I had a problem in my first game in Russia in September 2006 when I didn't have a full-back.

"I had suspensions from the World Cup but I went to him and said 'Charlie, I don't have a right-back, but I think you can do it'. I thought that because he's such a strong boy. He was only 19 but said 'no problem' and he's been full-back for the national team ever since."

Bilic added: "Eduardo is unbelievable. What stands out is his touch, his sense of team play, and the way he opens space, making key passes. He's so strong and good in the air."

Did you change that?

I think Corluka is excellent for us... but the best in the world?! Maybe in a couple of years!

I think he is the best in terms of versatility, he can be asked to do a job and he will do it at the best he can... Which is normally very good! I thought he was great at DM and can play CB with no problems!
