| Manchester City midfielder Elano has been told to buck up his ideas if he wants to be a long term success in England.
The Brazilian midfielder has been in impressive form for City so far this season, bagging 7 goals in 24 appearances, however the 26 year old was substituted at half time in Sunday's FA Cup clash with Sheffield United because he was in danger of receiving his marching orders after repeated feuds with United players Gary Speed and Leigh Bromby.http://talkingsoccer.blogspot.com/2008/01/man-city-star-told-to-buck-up-his-ideas.html

| | I dont think this was the only reason Sven took him off - Shef United had a plan to frustrate him and get under his skin - he was playing pretty averagely and both him and Petrov seemed to lack the bottle required when playing a team like them especially the way they set out to bully us. I don't think he is 100% fit at the moment. Elao and Petrov have been largely in-effective in the last 3 or 4 games. Other prem teams see to have sussed them out and play with 1½ men marking them both - and bullying them off the ball or out of the game. We should use this and exploit the gaps but we play so tight in midfield that the gaps are too small. Johnson exploited these gaps in the early season. We are missing him more than we would Elano at the minute. We need 4 or 5 of our new players to come int form and start performing. Tonight will be a good test of their ability to stand up and show how much they want to win.

| Teams have worked elano out. When he gets the ball he has his back turned...defenders are right up his ass...BANG!... he isnt liking this now. Play two strikers now and let him get the ball facing opponents more often.

Too often, we lose sight of lifes simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and bitch-slap that mother....pass it on. |
