I know he's been in and out of the team but still 4 goals and an injury hit career with Bayern suggest that he would have been a massive gamble. The more and more i think about the strikers we've been linked with (huntelaar, podolski, zigic etc) I'd much sooner us sign Jermain Defoe and/or Peter Crouch. I'd prefer Defoe....at least we know they can both score in england. |

I concur about defoe-he'd have prolly taken him to the world cup ahead of Walcott if he liked him. Crouch? Mebbe. Owen? still mebbe I think (in terms of sven likeyness)
