I think the fact that it took us 92 minutes to get a shot on target and test the keeper says it all.

First half, best not mentioned, I dont think we had left the dressing room, and a very poor goal that we conceded and a little dubious.

Second half was better, although the final third was poor. Long ball are okay if you have two up front and pushing on. We just looked second best though.

We dont seem to be getting decisions from refs in the last few games and Halsey was really poor, some two footed challenges gone unpunished.

Elano is of colour since he came back, Castillo was like a ghost and we looked very unsettled.

Hopefully it was just a blip, but we lacked a lot on saturday. I think Sven needs to shake things up a little.

That said, I would suggest we start with the striker....out with vassell, bianchi & mpenza and give sturridge a go..... a half injured sturridge must be better than clueless bianchi and vassell. Play Ethuhu on the right.... and lets run the hammers ragged....

Cometh the man cometh the wig....

Games like Everton are a pretty good yard stick as to how far we've come this season. The defeat, and the nature of it goes to show we're some way off a top 4 side, although how much of that is down to tactics I'm not sure. IMO we're 3 quality players away from being able to compete. We need a 'proven' quality striker, we need a solution to right midfield, and we need a midfield general.

Sum's it up nicely ESM.

Elano looked sluggish. Didi was potentially our best player.  Petrov got so frustrated that he decided to run at defenders rather than cross the ball and it nearly worked.  Onouaha looked a little lacking at times - maybe put Corluka back in that spot and play Ireland in Central Midfield.  Sadly still missing an out and out striker.  Surely Vassels time must be up soon. Wonder whats happened to Mpenza - he looked OK early season.

Mpenza is injured now; hopefully he will come back soon (within couple of weeks). Because we need him back... And that’s more about his situation.

Rest prescribed for Mpenza

I caught the Premiership highlights on a German channel yesterday. Looked like it was all Everton from what they showed. It looked like City were lucky to have only conceded the one.

concurrance on all three there

Last two league games, we haven't managed ONE shot on target. Takes some fucking doing that.

??? How can this be right? Last two games were Newcastle and Everton yes?

And Petrov alone has had shots on target in both those games?

"Nobody likes my shoes! I made... I made fifty... fucking vol-au-vents, and not one of you... not one of you... said "Thank you." And my favourite: "Everybody, shut up. Shut up! This song is all about me."
