Young City striker Ched Evans hopes to build on the experience he gained on loan at Norwich now that he has returned to the Blues from East Anglia.

The 19-year-old Welshman has one substitute appearance for City under his belt so far, gained against the Canaries themselves in the Carling Cup win last September.

Norwich came calling two months later after Glen Roeder had taken the reins at Carrow Road, and Ched gave a good account of himself over the subsequent few weeks scoring twice and making six starting appearances.

Speaking to MCFCTV.com, Ched says,  “I learned a lot from my loan at Norwich and I really enjoyed it, it’s a big step up into men’s football and it’s so much faster than the reserves.

“You’re around experienced players, everyone’s happy when you win whereas in reserves it’s not that important – they are more like friendlies to gain experience. The Championship is very competitive and I really enjoyed myself.

“I didn’t score in the last few games, which disappointed me because strikers get judged on goals. I just want to play week in, week out for City and score lots of goals, all I can ask for is that the goals keep coming for me.”

Now that he is back at Carrington, Ched aims to use his Norwich experience and benefit from linking up with players like Elano & Martin Petrov.

“With players like that around, you’re more likely to get more goals because they can provide them. On the other hand it is going to be harder to get into the team, but that’s making me more determined as well.”

I suspect we'll need to get rid of Vassel, Samaras, Bianchi, Dickov et al before Evans (and maybe Miller) get much of a look-in.  Be nice to see the lad get a few games though.  Looks a powerful kid.

Evans will be a very handy player in the coming years but i think he should probably have a few loan spells over the next couple of seasons.

Why can't i find a man to love and cherish me?
