| Nigel Gleghorn on GMR said that Garrido mostly played as a left midfielder in Spain, that would explain some glaring defensive mistakes he's made

| | I like Garrido. I'm on the side of those saying let him settle in. He's clearly a talented footballer. I also really like Petrov. I think he works hard and gives us some good options. I definitely wouldn't drop him

I definitely wouldn't drop him I agree i think they are both good players and will do very well. As much as i like Ball he doesn't have the class that Garrido has and i don't think he is as bad defensively as people say he is |

| Maybe Mr Sven reads this Forum. he gave Bal the start and also put Garrido on the left later in the game. But it does hsow our thin squad for what it is when we don't have any midfielders to replace Ireland and Johnson. We missed them yesterday. Ball played well and Garrido put a couple of good crosses in too.

| I dont like Garrido - he's average and wouldnt get in many of the other top 10 prem teams. He'd get laughed at by any decent winger if we get into Europe next season.
Ball is a better player with more experience IMHO

| | Garrido is young and learning so I wouldn't get on his back too much. He seems like a very classy player, its just his positioning and spacial awareness when playing at left back which is worrying, especially without a natural left sided centre-half to cover for him! He looks decent on the left wing though which is encouraging particularly if Petrov gets injured etc. I think our left side should line up with Ball and Petrov down the left for a few more games or maybe try Ball and Garrido and bring Petrov in later on in the game when the opposition is beginning to tire?

I like Garrido, but like you say it's his positioning and awareness which is why Ball gets the nod for me at left back, he was superb at villa park and very good against bolton. Castillo is a left winger also so we are really well covered there. Last season we was crying for a left winger now we have 3 lol, and all quality aswell! Thankyou again Frank and Sven |
