Stuffing? (20/12/2007)
He did well to spread himself to stop them scoring a third, plus he took command well at corners and set pieces. Issakson's kicking and lack of communication with Dunney and Micah was a real worry.

hur hur

Guess that means definitely no Amelia (or any other good experienced keeper) is coming in Jan then?

I have to say i am surprised and would be a bit Pissed off if I was AI. Only got four games, and a better shot stopper than Hart for me. The save from the Elk on Saturday was amazing.

Sven Goran Eriksson has confirmed Joe Hart as Manchester City's first-choice goalkeeper for the 'foreseeable future'.

City have used three keepers in the Premier League this season, with Kasper Schmeichel and Andreas Isaksson also having a spell between the sticks.

Isaksson has started the last four league matches, but Hart will return to the side for Saturday's trip to Aston Villa.

Eriksson acknowledged that his decision could prompt Sweden international Isaksson to consider his future at City.

Not happy

"On Saturday, Joe Hart will play and will be my No.1 for the foreseeable future," Eriksson told the club's official website.

"I have had talks with Andreas today and obviously he's not very happy. I had to make a choice and for this moment I've made the choice in Joe Hart.

"I don't know if Andreas wants to leave or stay and fight for the place, but I told him it's very much up to him.

"I will not be surprised and I will understand it if he wants to leave.

"It was important and for the players to come up with this decision before the window opens in January."

Eriksson also has a Singapore goalkeeper currently training with his squad, along with Saudi Arabia captain Yasser Al Qahtani.

He added: "We have a goalkeeper from Singapore and a striker from Saudi Arabia training with us here, so we'll see what's happening there."

Have we??

I've never rated Isaksson, i thought it was wrong to drop Weaver for him in the first place, i always thought Isaksson could produce a world class save but that was always a bit pointless as he used to always let a couple in which someone else would have saved.  His kicking is too poor for a top class goalkeeper and for someone so tall he was a bit rubbish at crosses.  Really its quite annoying we ever let James go as this season and last season he was probably one of the best goal keepers in the premier league.

Big decision that one, and i think it's a good one. To put your faith in a young keeper isn't the easiest decision to make, bearing in mind goalkeeper is the one position where youth isn't an advantage. I like him though, he looks good and will improve with experience. Another good Pearce signing!
