Another one not 100% fit, but delighted to be playing.

City's USA winger DaMarcus Beasley has revealed on this week's official Club podcast how pleased he was to get out on the pitch against Middlesbrough and contribute towards the Blues' 1-0 victory on Monday.

He said: "I've had a couple of injuries and a little setback with my ankle for about a month. It was good to finally get my first start in a big win for us. We definitely needed it and I was glad to be a part of it."

And with Charlton up next on Saturday, Beasley is positive that City can travel to the capital in good spirits: "Hopefully, with the performance that we had, we can build on that and go and have a good result at Charlton," he added.

After his original ankle knock hadn't fully cleared, the 24-year-old couldn't let his opportunity to play in front of the home crowd pass him by, as he stated: "I'm nearly there, my ankle's still not 100% yet, but the medical team knew that and my ankle was taped up pretty tight. But I feel a lot fitter and I started cramping up in the second half, that's why I came off, but other than that I felt pretty good.

"It was an unbelievable atmosphere. From what I've heard, it's still one of the best in England. I'm glad that I play for Manchester City and that the fans get behind the team and support us.

"We definitely needed it. They got behind us and were with us from the first minute until the 90th. They were like our 12th man."

City spin doctors at it again??

Nice words from the young lad, and I think if SP sticks with him, he could definitely be the left side answer.

My Dad lives in Holland and has seen a lot of this guy, he reckons he's a decent player but is too lightweight and injury prone(as we've already seen) and won't be able to hack the physical side of the prem.

So he's an improvement over what we had (well, that was nobody wasn't it?) but we still need cover.

What ever happened to young Miller? Maybe they can work a partnership out on the left.

I really liked the look of him, he gave us the extra option and i think we will definatly become a threat from the flanks now. getting balls into Sam could be important because he can head a ball!

What we need is a mixture of Beasley and Miller. So we'd get skill and strength

I thought that Beasley did ok against Boro - the MUEN were a bit harsh on him

there's a good piece about Miller in 442 this month

Samaras can head a ball (not as good as Sibi granted) but I would like to see our wide players vary their play, getting to the by-line and pulling back to feet. I haven't seen much of Beaseley, but I would like to think he gives us another dimension going forward. Someone to give pacy support to the strikers would be a start.

We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars

Yeah i read that it's quite good. There's been quite a lot of City players recently in "boys a bit special" section. We definatly have more there than any other club
