Does anybody else agree that Joey no needs to revert back to the role he had when he first broke into the city first team (Breaking up plays and just laying the ball of to another midfielder) instead of trying to parade around the field pretending that he has the ability to be a world class playmaker. On saturday there were at least 3 occasions that Barton didnt even bother chasing back in any way, shape or form and he will cost the team more goals by not offering that cover we so badly need

I think Barton's role has changed since Dabo and Hamann came in.  Those two are more natural at sitting in there, leaving Barton to get forward more.  He's not a great playmaker, but we don't really have anybody else.  And because he's got energy, i think SP has told him to get forward more.

Also when you look at the current and fit midfield he is the only one we have who can be a playmaking , goalscoring, box to box midfielder.

Not his fault Hamman seems to have had an football ability bypass and Dabo still has to come to terms with the Prem.

I gave Elano my Porsche and now I want it back!
